yellow mottainai もったいない

Mottainai is a Japanese word conveying the value in everyday objects and can translate as “don’t waste.” Yellow Mottainai started with a small collection of produce bags for lemons and grocery twist ties. The bags and the twist ties joined the rubber gloves (workplace discards) to create the ensemble. It is a celebration of yellow, of optimism and joy by way of packaging and ‘disposables.’
